Angwinites opposing the PUC/Triad corporation plan for 380 housing units in the heart of the village have retained a San Francisco law firm to handle legal issues.  Save Rural Angwin has also undetaken a fund-raising program, and retained an environmental consultant to review the EIR currently being prepared on the project.

The legal tasks have been given to Moscone, Emblidge and Sater, LLP, a firm with extensive experience in land use and environmental law.  Grassetti Environmental Consulting of Berkeley will review the EIR and give Napa officials a second opinion on its merits.

The fund drive got underway last month with an appeal to SRA's over 1,000 supporters to match $10,000 being contributed by Warren and Barbara Winiarski. St. Helena winemaker Dario Sattui followed suit with another $10,000 challenge grant.  SRA expects both goals will be met rather quickly, adding $40,000 to the bank balance.
